As part of the larger goal of inculcating a culture of writing and improving the quality of research communication on campus, the Writing Centre at IISc offers regular research communication courses as well as editing services. Unfortunately, we realise that these initiatives may not directly benefit all the students who need help.

We, therefore, are helping set up writing circles – semi-structured support groups for students who are interesting in improving their writing. Writing circles provide students with an opportunity to reflect on their writing, take responsibility for their writing projects, and a safe space to write.

In the long run, we hope that there will be several writing circles across campus. If you are interested in organising a writing circle in your department, please get in touch with us.
